On Monday 27th March, eight of our most able (and competitive) Year 10 Maths students, took part in a regional Mathematics competition. Students involved were Amina Natha, Chloe Adamson, Mohammed Gija, Awarish Aurang, Aadil Saiyad, Ahmed Patel, Hasan Chhadat and Mohamed Nagori.

The competition was based at The University of Manchester; the students were up against 23 other teams. They competed in six rounds testing different aspects of their mathematical knowledge. Although they missed out on winning one of the rounds, our students were complimented on their team work and the effort they put in throughout the afternoon – they even have the certificates and badges to prove it! KS3 students take note of the badges as part of your next Numeracy Challenge will be to create your own version for the Further Mathematics Support Programme. They will support the event and the winning badge will be worn by students next year. More details will follow in your challenge on Monday.

Congratulations to both teams and many thanks to Mrs Sakeria for accompanying the trip.
