Welcome Back

Welcome back to a new school year. Once again, Sharples School has exceeded expectations with this year’s GCSE results which are significantly above the national average for the second year running and reinforce the school’s status as ‘top performing community school in Bolton’.

Pupils outperformed predictions by almost 10%, demonstrating outstanding progress during their time at Sharples and, overall, achieved a remarkable pass rate of 95% in five different GCSE subjects at grades A* to C .

We are delighted with these results. With changes to the structure and marking of examinations this year, it is difficult to make comparisons to previous exam performance. Through their hard work and the support of their teachers, however, our pupils have built upon the excellent progress made last year and delivered another fantastic set of results. Our motto is ‘Learn, Dream, Achieve’ and this year’s pupils have demonstrated that. We have high expectations for our all our students and aim to nurture in them a self-belief that will enable them to achieve their best and realise their dreams and ambitions through hard work and involving themselves fully in what School has to offer them. I look forward to working in partnership with parents and pupils in the coming year. Rachel Quesnel, Headteacher.
