Last week, Year 7 had an exciting workshop to help with their transition to Sharples. The Talk About Transition workshops support the students by using oracy based activities and strategies to develop greater self-confidence and resilience to support the successful transition from primary to secondary school. All the pupils enjoyed getting to know a variety of their peers and engaging with the excellent workshop leaders who provided a safe and fun environment to enhance the confidence of our pupils. As part of the workshop, each group had to stand up in front of their peers and read out a speech that they produced. Every pupil did this brilliantly. Also, as part of their half day workshop, the pupils looked to the future and what they wanted to achieve whilst at Sharples. An excellent day was had by all with the pupils being a credit to the school.
