This year’s STEM Week has been as jammed packed as ever with trips, visits, shows and workshops throughout the week.

The week kicked off on Monday with STEM Super Learning Day for Year 7-9. The Rotary Club were in attendance to host their “Dragons Den” pitching event and The British Army put Year 9 through their paces.

The Maths Department held a Maths Fest puzzle solve with Maria Marsden Price and Meghna Nathoo coming away with the top prize. Pi Day was celebrated on Wednesday with a whole school quiz.

In science we saw: The Creepy Crawly Roadshow; a rat dissection demonstration and Year 9 Booster sessions every day.

The robots were out in Computing and, on Tuesday, over 30 pupils competed in the BEBRAS computing excellence award.

The week was topped off with a visit to Sharples by Year 2 (from The Oaks) who toasted marshmallows on the Bunsen Burner!

Finally on Friday, 30 Year 8 pupils travelled to Manchester for the British Science Fair.

A great week once again! Thank you to all staff and pupils who took part!
