The table tennis team were back in action on Wednesday hosting Westhoughton High School. The game saw Jack Gornall and Noah Dawson come into the team. Sharples continued to do well with all players winning a number of matches to give the team an overall win by 8 games. Alex Grabowski won all of his matches and – once again – showed why he won ‘Player of the Season’ last year. Next week, the team will play Mount St Joseph’s.

The Year 8 boys football team put in some impressive performances, in the first half of the season, and were hoping to continue their winning streak away at St Catherine’s. It was a thrilling encounter that both teams could have won. Sharples deservedly took the lead through Liam Worswick who won (and converted) his penalty. Selim Simsek twice went close and Sharples were made to regret missed opportunities as St Catherine’s equalised through a penalty. Sharples pressed for the winner but were grateful for a point. Mason Bridge pulled off 3 outstanding saves in the last 5 minutes. There were plenty of positives to take into their next game against Essa Academy.
