Unfortunately, Mount St Joseph’s had to postpone the table tennis fixture this week but the team will be in action on Monday against St James’. The squad have been training every lunchtime in order to build on their impressive start to the season.

The Year 9 football team were up against a strong and talented St Catherine’s team on Thursday. Despite being the underdogs, Sharples started brightly and, surprisingly, took the lead after Daniel Bankole confidently slotted his penalty into the top corner. Unfortunately, the goal appeared to kick start the opposition into action and Sharples found themselves 2-1 down at half time.

The second half saw both teams create numerous chances but St Catherine’s were the most clinical in front of goal. Rayyan Ali scored from a tight angle but, despite the best efforts of Rio Fish, Sharples couldn’t  prevent the opposition from taking all 3 points.

The Year 7 and 10 football teams will both be in action next Tuesday with Year 7 hosting Essa and Year 10 travelling to St Catherine’s.
