Sports Report

There have been a number of practices this week but, unfortunately, some fixtures fell victim to the terrible weather.

Well done to all pupils that have attended various after school clubs this week in activities such as rounders, cricket, basketball, fitness, football, swimming and boxing. It’s great to see so many pupils enjoying themselves, being active and making friends.

Phil Ufoma has set various records in athletics last year and got off to a great start in his first competition of the season representing the town in the GM Championships. Phil continued his winning streak achieving another gold medal to add to his collection. Phil jumped 11.22m in the triple jump and qualified for the English School competition in Birmingham. We wish him all the best for the event competing against the best athletes in the country.

Please check the newsletter for a list of activities available after school in PE next week.  The rounders team will have two fixtures at Sharples due to recent cancellations. Congratulations to all Year 9 and 10 students that have been selected to represent the school in the town athletics (next Thursday) at Leigh Sports Village. We will update you on their performance in next week’s newsletter.
