Grace Taylor, of Year 9, is this week’s ‘Sharples School Shining Sports Star’. Grace is the school’s strongest swimmer and currently trains on average 20 hours a week, including before school! Grace was due to compete at the regional swimming competitions this year, however, due to Covid-19 she was unable to take part. She is hopeful that competitive swimming will commence again in 2021, where her goal is to aim for National times in the 100m and 200m butterfly. Butterfly, closely followed by freestyle, is Grace’s best stroke and is hoping to follow in the footsteps of her favourite swimmer, Rebecca Adlington and one day compete at the Olympic Games.
