Sharples Primary School visited the Art department last week for a workshop to support their whole-school International Week. The Year 4 class were studying the country Italy, so the workshop was based around this theme. Pupils had the opportunity to work in clay for the first time, creating Italian style jugs. Pupils made pinch pots with the clay and then we attached Italian style decorative handles. They explored a variety of new techniques, as well as learning about the firing process (including sneaking a peek at the Art department’s kiln). The pots are drying out ready to be fired and Mrs. Davidson can’t wait to return them to the pupils so they can see the results of their brilliant efforts. Fantastico!
