At Wednesday lunchtime, STEM Club with Miss Dudley in G45 were extracting DNA from the cells of kiwis (white cloudy substance in the top of the tube).

 

Rat Dissection

This week with Miss Fairhurst in Biology, Year 10 were taking (a)part in a rat dissection to aid their learning all about the inner workings of the digestive system, as well as practising a key hands-on skill for any Biologist. Fortunately, the images below cannot convey the smell…

PDSA Talk

This week with Miss Booth our GCSE Animal Care students received a talk from the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA), the UK’s leading veterinary charity, providing free and low-cost treatment to pets in need. The talk put our students’ understanding of the 5 Animal Welfare Needs into real-life context.
