On 29th November the new block at Sharples school was opened, the building contains six spacious classrooms, a Super Classroom and a bespoke conference centre. The Headboy and Headgirl welcomed guests in French and Spanish to highlight that the Language Department is housed in the new block.
The Student Affairs Committee then buried a Time Capsule which is not to be opened until 2039, they included messages for the students of the future as well as showcasing the many successes achieved by the school in 2019.
Councillor Christine Wild who is the Chair of Governors at Sharples and who has supported the school for over thirty years unveiled the plaque that commemorates the official opening of the building.
Sharples’ students are thrilled by the new block and are keen to access the additional learning facilities it provides them with.
