Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of a fantastic 2025-26 academic year, I wanted to take this opportunity to reflect on our successes as a school community this year. It has been a year filled with achievement, opportunity and growth, and I could not be prouder of what our students and staff have accomplished together.
Our school has continued to offer an exceptional range of opportunities beyond the classroom. Students have taken part in sporting competitions, music and drama performances, educational visits, residential experiences, STEM activities, careers events, charity fundraising and leadership opportunities. This week, we have come together to celebrate the successes of our students in the Academic Achievement Assemblies. It has been fantastic to recognise the hard work of students across the breadth of our curriculum. The experiences that we provide help to develop confidence, resilience and teamwork, preparing our young people for successful futures.
I have been particularly proud of the way our students have supported one another. Our culture of inclusion continues to grow stronger, with students showing respect, empathy and kindness towards others. We remain committed to ensuring that every young person feels safe, valued and able to achieve their very best.
Attendance continues to be a real strength of the school. Our students understand the importance of being in school every day, and together with your support we have maintained attendance significantly above the national average. Every day in school matters, and this collective commitment has had a positive impact on learning and achievement.
I would like to thank our exceptional staff, whose dedication, care and professionalism make Sharples School such a special place. Their commitment to our students extends far beyond the classroom, and I know how much they appreciate the encouragement and support they receive from families.
To our parents and carers, thank you for working in partnership with us. Education is most successful when school and home work together, and your support has played an invaluable role in the achievements we celebrate today.
I wish you and your families a restful and enjoyable holiday period. We look forward to welcoming our students back, ready for another year of going above and beyond to provide rich opportunities for their development.
School opens for 2026-27: Year 7 students – Thursday 3rd September 8.45am
