Dear Parent/Carer,
You will be aware that our school was visited by Ofsted in the first week of this term. Being inspected is never an easy experience for schools, as it can be very intensive over the two days of the visit, but everyone in the school worked together to show the inspection team what we do at Sharples School.
As an ungraded inspection, the inspectors were looking to assess progress since our last inspection when we were judged as “Good”. We were therefore absolutely delighted when the Lead Inspector congratulated us whilst evaluating that the school has significantly improved in all areas since the last inspection. In addition, we received no areas for improvement.
Sharples School has been on a journey over the past 10 years and it is as a result of the hard work of staff, students, parents and our community that Sharples has been recognised for the outstanding work that we do every day.
At Sharples school, pupils embody their school motto of ‘Learn, Dream, Achieve’. They flourish in a successful and happy school community that supports them to be the very best that they can be.
Pupils consider it a privilege to be part of their school, where they feel safe and accepted. Their exemplary behaviour actively upholds and promotes the school’s ethos. They behave with respect and proudly celebrate their own achievements as well as those of their peers.
Ofsted 2025
I am delighted to enclose the full inspection report and it is indeed something that we should all be very proud of.
I would like to end by saying that at Sharples we never stand still, and we are always looking to make further improvements that benefit our students. The inspection team described us as having “the tenacity to tackle any gaps that exist” and we will continue to do just that going forward.
I would like to thank staff, students, parents, our trustees and all school partners for playing their vital part in our ongoing journey. Well done Team Sharples!
Yours sincerely
Ms C Molyneux
Headteacher
