Year 8
The Year 8 boys (pictured above) took on Kearsley in a league game and were victorious, beating Kearsley 3-1. Goals came from Ahmed and Cole followed by a spectacular effort from Tom, scoring his first goal for school.
Year 7
Year 7 (pictured above) continued their excellent start to the season with a fantastic 4-3 win against Kearsley on Monday evening. Sharples travelled with a squad of 12 players with each playing their part in the win to make it two wins out of two so far. A magnificent hat-trick from Callum & a goal from Alfie helped Sharples on their way to victory. Sharples went into halftime 2-0 up and showed fantastic determination and resilience after being pegged back to 2-2 after two quick fire goals from Kearsley who piled the pressure on in the second half. Sharples then scored two to make the game 4-2 but then a late goal from Kearsley meant nervous times for Sharples but managed to show great focus and hold out for the win. A special mention has to go to Callum for his 5 goals scored in his first two matches, we hope this scoring form will continue throughout the season. Year 7’s next game will be a Cup fixture against Eden Boys School on Tuesday 11th October.
Mr Charlton would also like to apologise as the goals from last week’s game vs Ladybridge were written as being scored by Lewis G, when in fact they were scored by Elliot G. Well done Elliot and to all of the Year 7 team for their fantastic starts to the football season, keep up the great work guys!
