Annual Schools Gymnastics Competition

By 9 March 2017June 2nd, 2021No Comments

On Wednesday, we travelled to Ladybridge High School for the Annual Schools Gymnastics Competition. We had 6 competitors across all three categories: novice, intermediate and advanced. Natasha Robinson and Lucie Olive started on the floor while Isabelle Chamberlain, Freya Swailes, Sienna Isherwood and Isabel Smith went off to the vault and trampette. Natasha and Lucie performed their floor routines with outstanding aesthetic appreciation and really impressed the judge. The pair scored highly for this section of the competition. Performing equally as well, the girls on the vault and trampette showcased their talents.  From some of the latter gymnasts, it was their first competition! Check out Twitter and the school website for some videos of our gymnasts. The evening continued with the second round.  Our girls swapped areas and performed the second discipline of the competition.

Our students all worked extremely hard to prepare for the competition. There were 116 competitors and ours did us proud. I am pleased to say that Isabel Smith was placed 3rd in the competition for her category and was awarded a medal. The girls are all looking forward to next year’s competition and want to get practising as soon as possible. Well done girls!
