World Book Day 2019

On Thursday, Sharples’ students took part in an array of events and activities in order to celebrate World Book Day.

As always, our Year 7 students dressed up in fancy dress as their favourite book characters. On the day, we saw Grandpa (from Grandpa’s Great Escape), a Hungry Caterpillar, Harry Potter and Willy Wonka to name but a few. Watch this space to find out which students won!

In addition to the fancy dress, many of our students took part in our annual Egg Competition. A huge congratulations goes to Naima Shabbir (7L) took first place with her eggcellent Harry Potter entry! (see photo)

Students, from all year groups, took part in our ‘Where’s Wally?’ competition hunting for the elusive character around school.

Many students, from all year groups, took part in our Readathon event too. All sponsorship money must be given to Mrs N Smith (FL5) by 27th March.
