Success at the Greater Manchester Schools Championships

A huge well done to Cherie (Year 9) who competed in the 100m at the Greater Manchester Schools Championships on Saturday. After sailing through her heat, Cherie stormed the final, securing a time of 12.58s. This result also qualified Cherie to take part in the English Schools Championships where she will represent Greater Manchester in July at Sport City. Massive well done, Cherie!

Another success at the Championships was Marcus (Year 9). After an extremely busy Saturday morning and afternoon completing the Duke Of Edinburgh expedition, Marcus darted off to compete in his 1500m race. Despite completing around 13km with a heavy rucksack during the day, Marcus was still able to run the 1500m in an incredible time of 4 minutes and 38 seconds and achieved a bronze medal for his efforts. Marcus also smashed the school record in the process and is looking to improve his time further this term in the Bolton Athletics Championships.
