Students’ Heroes: Neil Armstrong

By 1 February 2019June 2nd, 2021No Comments

On Wednesday this week, Mr Stapley and two of our Year 10 astronomy students (Rowan and Matt) visited Year 3 at The Oaks.  They went to talk to them about Neil Armstrong as part of their STEM Heroes project. Rowan and Matt gave a talk about the moon landing of Apollo 11 and then led the children in an activity to make the moon phases out of Oreo cookies!

Mr Stapley asked groups to make mini rockets which were launched using a chemical reaction! The students had great fun and learned a lot about one of their science heroes!

The image of the moon in this article was taken using the Singadia Observatory camera.
