This week, the STEM club investigated ratios using thermochromic paint as a real world application. Thermochromic paint changes colour according to temperature – the ratio of the paint, and the thickness of the paint applied are important factors for how the paint will behave. The pupils painted polystyrene cups to take home and test! There are many applications in the food industry, including testing whether food and drink is at the right temperature for consumption.
