Sports Report (Netball)

By 18 October 2019No Comments

On Thursday afternoon, Bolton St Catherines travelled to Sharples to play netball. They brought three teams, Year 7, 8 and 9. Due to the outside netball courts being out of action, we had to play one after the other in the sports hall. Year 9 played first whilst being cheered on by the other two teams. The encouragement paid off as we got off to a great start and scored immediately from the first centre pass. The girls played some fantastic netball against a team who struggled against our attacking players. The game ended 10-0 to us! This is the most goals the Year 9 team have scored in a match. It highlights how well they played, having not conceded a single goal. Amy did a great job as goal keeper and did not allow the ball into the oppositions semi-circle. Well done Year 9. Player of the match went to Leah Jackson who scored some amazing goals.

The Year 8 team were next and had obviously been inspired by what they had just watched. They too played some fantastic netball and displayed some lovely examples of sportsmanship against the opposition. Their game also finished as a win, 11-0 to us. Well done to Ruby Kelly who was awarded player of the match.

Year 7 were last to play and after such an epic start they did not disappoint. They smashed their match winning 14-0. Cherie Ufuoma got player of the match. Not one of the teams conceded a goal which is outstanding!

Well done to everyone who played – what a great way to finish this half term.
