It’s been a difficult week for many of our after school clubs due to the horrendous weather conditions. This, unfortunately, led to the postponement of the Year 9 Bolton Cup Football quarter final fixture against Turton and the cancellation of the KS3 Girls Football tournament.
Next week, will see the Year 8 and 9 girls going to David Lloyd again, the boxing club (resuming on Monday) and – hopefully – no more cancellations.
Sharples were able to host a Year 3 and 4 futsal tournament using the newly installed futsal goal posts in the sports hall. Six additional schools are coming to Sharples the following week to compete in another futsal tournament. Sharples will be starting a new futsal club in the near future and have arranged for Bolton Wanderers to come in and assist in the delivery.
The PE department went on a number of training sessions (after school this week) so they can deliver some new activities, such as body conditioning, pilates, aqua aerobics and dancercise. The department will be trying some new activities during PE lessons. Don’t forget to watch this space for new clubs starting after school.
