Year 9 and 10 had a fantastic experience representing the school at the annual Bolton Schools’ Athletics Championships last Thursday. The weather was kind to all pupils who took part and all students thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Some of the highlights from the event were Harvey Stigwood (2nd place discus 24.9m), Isabelle Smith (2nd place 100m final 13.3 seconds), Yasmin Walker 3rd place 200m heat and Katie Davies 3rd (200m heat). Year 7 and 8 have their opportunity to showcase their talents, on Tuesday, again being held at Leigh Sports Village.
Last week, several of our pupils had another great session at Amir Khan’s Boxing Club. Last Tuesday, our students were greeted with an extra special surprise with a personal meeting from Amir Khan himself! Students had the opportunity to speak to Amir (and take photos) before wishing him good luck for his upcoming fight.
