The Year 7 boys football team were back in action for the first time this year travelling to St Catherine’s Academy on Tuesday. The weather wasn’t kind with gale force winds, sleet, snow and hail. Sharples had the wind behind them, in the first half of the match, and immediately penned the opposition into their own half. Josh Rand and Liam Worswick put Sharples 2 goals up with efforts from outside the box. It was a tale of missed chances for the remainder of the half with Muhammed Suliman and Mohammed Patel going close a number of times. It was a different story in the second half playing against the wind. Despite conceding late on, they managed to hold on to their slender 1 goal lead.
The Year 8 boys football team will be in action next Tuesday when they also travel to St Catherine’s.
The table tennis team had no fixture this week but will hope to build on their impressive win against Thornleigh last week when they play Ladybridge next Wednesday.
