Science Enrichment – Transition Evening

On Wednesday after school, Miss Booth and our student ambassadors welcomed local primary pupils to Science at Sharples as part of an evening developing their core skills in preparation for starting at secondary. They discussed working safely in a laboratory setting with scientific equipment such as beakers, pipettes and test tubes, before making their own sugar solution ‘rainbows’. The Science behind this is the concept of buoyancy, that less dense substances float on the surface of more dense substances.
