Space News

Amateur astrophotographers have recently made an extraordinary contribution to the field of astronomy by capturing stunning images of a newly-discovered supernova. The Pinwheel Galaxy, also known as M101, located 21 million light-years away, became the stage for this celestial event. Several amateur astronomers were lucky enough to document the bright stellar explosion, named SN 2023ixf. Their images showcased the supernova’s progression over several days, providing valuable insights into this fascinating cosmic phenomenon. Through their passion and dedication, these amateur astrophotographers continue to expand our knowledge of the universe.
