Science Enrichment – Aeronautical Engineering

By 24 September 2021No Comments

Yesterday after school, as part of the Sharples ‘Good 2 Great’ lecture programme, our top Scientists from Year 10 and 11 were invited to attend a virtual talk, tour and Q&A session with an Aeronautical Engineer live from RAF Cosford.

The aspirational talk opened our students’ eyes to career pathways that exist in both civilian and military aviation, including an impressive tour of the hangar at RAF Cosford, containing multiple millions of pounds worth of planes and hardware. Our students took the opportunity to ask questions live during and after the tour, furthering their knowledge and understanding of the exciting possibilities available to them following their Science studies at Sharples.

Scroll down to see some of the tour highlights…

Thanks to Mr Fowlds for hosting.
