On Wednesday, Mount St Joseph’s travelled to Sharples to play flat bat rounders. As the sun was shining, we had lots of players who managed to get in a really worthwhile practice before they arrived. The first 11 were picked to play and got into their fielding positions. Mount were first to bat. Their first player hit a smashing ball backwards that worried our girls. She scored a rounder. Luckily, that seemed to be their best player. In the end, Mount managed to score 68. Sharples fielded really well; their skills are improving every week. We went into bat, and we had some fantastic hitters including Freya Swailes, Lauren Heyes and Leah Winstanley. Unfortunately, we only managed to score 58. Our next fixture is on Thursday against St Joseph’s.
