Remembrance Sunday

To commemorate Remembrance Sunday this year, we were delighted to be invited to the parlour of the Mayor of Bolton. Hilary Fairclough welcomed two of our Year 8 students – Madiha Bapu and Jack Riding to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph in Bolton in a formal solemn service to remember those who fought in the wars for Britain.

This was followed by tea in the parlour with the Lady Mayor herself. It was an absolute honour for our students and something that they will remember for years to come.

In Astley Bridge, our senior school leaders Waahid Valli and Zaynab Bux accompanied Mr Hesford to lay a wreath in St Paul’s Church at their annual Remembrance Day Service.

Finally, our Art Department produced an absolutely amazing display in the local Asda Store which commemorated the role that animals played in the past wars.

A huge thank you to all our students and staff who played a part in this important event.
