Last Saturday a select group of our Year 10 and Year 11 students attended The REACH Next Generation Summit. Also in attendance were Mrs N Patel, Miss Ayub and Miss R Patel, the summit included a range of speakers from different career backgrounds and many discussions about their next steps. They discussed many topics such as careers, the environment, social media, body positivity, exercise, nutrition, mental health and tech. It ended with a fantastic live performance by Priscilla Jones where our students joined in to sing ‘This is me’ from The Greatest Showman which is known for it’s motivational lyrics.
Our students have provided fantastic feedback for the summit, for example Ayesha from Year 10:
‘The trip was a great experience and I had so much fun! It was exciting meeting lots of new people and what they went through in their lives. Attending this trip made me realise that you should always believe in yourself no matter what, and never give up! It taught me that In life, you may face obstacles but there is always a way to tackle them, always have faith in yourself.
Finally, the most inspiring quote which will stick with me is “be unique, because that is what makes you, YOU!”
