Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the end of the spring term at Sharples School, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly positive and productive period for our school community.
This week in particular has captured the spirit of our school. We have seen students taking part in a range of activities that highlight both their talents and their commitment. Our sports teams, including Football, Netball, Swimming and Darts, have represented the school with pride. In the classroom, students have continued to engage thoughtfully in their learning, with many departments showcasing excellent work and progress. We have also enjoyed creative contributions from our students, including the “Battle of the Bands” end of term concert and preparations for our whole school production “Legally Blonde” are in the final stages. We hope you can join us for the show on Wednesday 22nd/Thursday 23rd April at 19.00. Tickets are available on MCAS.
In addition, many of our students have taken part in enrichment opportunities and wider school activities, from The Sharples Iftar, to Geography Fieldwork Trips and theatre visits, showing maturity, enthusiasm, and a real sense of community. It is these moments that truly reflect the values we aim to promote at Sharples School.
I would like to thank our dedicated staff, whose hard work and commitment make these opportunities possible, as well as our parents and carers for your continued support.
A particularly important milestone is approaching for our Year 11 students. With just six weeks remaining until the start of their GCSE examinations, this is a crucial time. I would like to commend them for the effort they have shown so far and encourage them to remain focused and determined in the weeks ahead. Consistent revision, good organisation, and a positive mindset will make all the difference.
To our Year 11 cohort: we are incredibly proud of you. You have worked hard to reach this point, and we have every confidence in your ability to succeed. Please continue to make the most of the support available to you and approach your exams with confidence. To that end, we have a full programme of Easter School revision for the students, with sessions available each day in school.
As we move into the Easter break, I hope all members of our school community find time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends.
Thank you once again for your continued support of Sharples School. We look forward to welcoming students back for the summer term at 8.40am on Monday 13th April 2026.
Kind regards
Caroline Molyneux
