Sharples’ Year 7 pupils entered the annual Bolton College Art competition to design artwork for the Mayor’s Ball. Our Year 7 pupils won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The winning teams were really excited to meet the Mayor of Bolton and collect their art certificates.

Representatives from Bolton College also came to congratulate our pupils. During the meeting, the Year 7 pupils asked questions to find out more about the role of the Mayor. Madame Mayor was very complimentary of the work our pupils created.

It was a rewarding experience for our pupils and they were very grateful she could take time out of her busy schedule to meet with them.

On departing from the meeting, Madame Mayor offered some great advice to our Year 7 pupils about always having a ‘can do attitude’ to any challenges they face.

The pupils are now going to share their experience with their peers.
