Tuesday 26th September was the European Day of Languages so we decided to celebrate all the languages spoken by our students and staff here at Sharples throughout the week. A selection of our very talented multi- lingual students participated in a special assembly which emphasised the advantages of speaking more than one language. We held a competition where students had to build a famous landmark as well as a form quiz which tested student’s linguistic and cultural knowledge. Pupils were also able to sample a range of European dishes in the school canteen. Finally, the staff competition was very keenly contested but the member of staff with the most nominations for speaking a foreign language during the week was Mr Capaldi.
