This has been a busy but very successful half term for Sharples School. The Department for Education has officially published the 2017 GCSE Results and we are very proud to state that we are significantly above local and national averages across all key accountability measures.
We are pleased to announce that our Progress 8 score is 0.37, which is the second highest of all Bolton schools. Earlier this week we were thrilled to find out that Sharples has been announced as the Bolton News’ Secondary School of the Year 2017. It is fantastic to have such public recognition of the hard work and effort that our wonderful students and staff put in every day.
On a personal note, I am delighted to be able to tell you that I am now the permanent Headteacher of Sharples School. I am looking forward to working with you all to take this great school from strength to strength over the coming years.
I hope that you all enjoy a well-earned half term break and I look forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday, 30 October 2017.
Ann Webster, Headteacher.
