The Maths department hosted an event designed to encourage more girls to take A-Level Maths when they leave Sharples. As well as talking about the career opportunities and the many varied subjects where Maths plays an important role, the Year 10 girls also saw presentations from Cordelia Martin of Bury College and Paul Buckley from Bolton Sixth Form College. Issues discussed were the requirements to study the subject at University, the facilities at college and examples of former pupils who were now studying Maths-related degrees.
