A selection of students from the Year 9 football team were selected to represent Sharples School this week in the Bolton futsal championships. The team found themselves in a difficult group against Thornleigh and Canon Slade. Sharples played both teams twice and recorded 3 wins and a draw. All players showed a great attitude and worked tirelessly throughout all the games. Sharples looked to play on the counter attack and most of the team chipped in with some very important goals. Harvey Hampson was superb in net and his distribution from the back was fantastic, even scoring a free kick and registering a few assists from goal. The final against Canon Slade was a thrilling encounter but Sharples managed to hold on to their slender one goal lead after Raif put the team ahead early on after good work from Haroona.
