English Taster Day

By 1 February 2019June 2nd, 2021No Comments

On Tuesday, a group of Year 9 pupils visited the University of Manchester for an English Taster Day. The day consisted of pupils getting to analyse and read key passages from medieval religious dramas in depth. They studied the texts and questioned whether they could identify any themes or issues they saw as relevant today. The aim was to get students thinking about how medieval writers juxtaposed genres such as humour and religion to address current debates. In addition to this, they learned key skills needed for their future examinations. A big thank you to Miss Parrish and Mr Ibrahim for taking the pupils; the feedback was excellent.
