This week, our Year 9 and Year 10 pupils continued to take part in the fantastic English Literature Festival events hosted by Wigan and Leigh College and GMHigher.
On Tuesday, pupils had the opportunity to speak to Louise Fazackerley who guided and helped them to create their own poetry.
On Wednesday, pupils spent time speaking to actor and director Martin Green who discussed the Elizabethan and Jacobean eras and Shakespeare’s enduring appeal to audiences today. Pupils were also able to explore what theatre was like in Shakespeare’s lifetime. It was a brilliant session that provided a great foundation for Year 10 who are due to study Romeo and Juliet.
Thursday allowed pupils to speak to the professional writer, AP Winter who led pupils through the creative writing process and showed them how to produce their own descriptive writing.
It has been a fantastic two weeks of virtual events; our pupils have thoroughly enjoyed every single session and we look forward to booking in more. See the table below for a list of all the events our students have had an opportunity to take part in these past two weeks.
