Dr Suzie Imber came to Sharples (on Thursday this week) to speak to Year 7 and 8 about how she won the BBC programme Astronaut: So you think you’ve got what it takes?
She explained the gruelling tests she had to go through including: scuba diving to rescue an underwater laboratory; enduring 6G in a human centrifuge and gruelling memory and physical fitness tests.
The talk was inspirational and taught our students a lot about determination and making the most of every opportunity.
