Doctor in the house!

On Wednesday, Year 10 and 11 girls were given a talk by Dr Sherrie Jones who is a first year doctor at Wythenshawe Hospital. At just 24, Sherrie has grabbed every opportunity that has arisen including studying for an extra year to achieve a degree in Pathology, working at the Christie Hospital Cancer Research Centre and spending two months in Mauritius working in the surgery there!

Sherrie was inspirational and, as she described how her working class background made her statistically unlikely to go to University, our students understood that anything is possible with hard work!

A huge thank you to Sherrie for giving up her time to come and speak to us.
