Last week, Year 10 G2G students were introduced to basic Chinese language and culture during a session delivered by a teacher from the Chinese Centre in Manchester. The purpose of the session was for the students to discover a new language and culture, different from the languages they study in school. They learnt about Chinese characters and, by the end of the session, they were able to count to 10, work in pairs and perform a dialogue in Chinese, read a short poem. They even sang and danced together. It was a session enjoyed by all the participating students and the teacher was very impressed with their attitude and enthusiasm
