Sharples boxing club continues to grow in numbers with just under 40 pupils attending on Monday. As a result, 2 sessions will run each week after half term. Year 7 and 8 will be held on a Monday and 9 and 10 on a Wednesday. The PE department are looking to organise a trip to a local boxing gym in the near future. Watch this space!
Year 9 were in action at home against Mount St Joseph’s on Wednesday. It was a new look team with a number of absentees. Dennis Owusu came into the team and put in a ‘Man of the Match’ performance alongside Ahmed Yaseen. It was an excellent defensive performance in the first half and Sharples were unfortunate to go in at half time 1 goal down. Unfortunately, Sharples couldn’t find a way back into the game with Matthew Senior coming the closest after hitting the underside of the cross bar.
