Last Thursday I attended the Bolton News Education Awards to celebrate the fact that Sharples has been announced as the Secondary School of the Year for 2017. Our Head Boy (Ben Davey) and Head Girl (Zaiba Patel) did an excellent job of accepting the award on behalf of the school.
As Headteacher I am extremely proud that Sharples has received this accolade. It is fantastic to have such public recognition of the hard work and effort that our wonderful students and staff put in every day.
At Sharples we work extremely hard to maximise learning opportunities for all of our students and our results are improving year on year. Our 2017 GCSE results are impressive with our Progress 8 score being in the top 30% of schools nationally.
Whilst we take great pride in our current achievements we are incredibly ambitious about our school as we move forward. Sharples has a strong aspirational culture and we are determined to build upon the many strengths of our school and enhance our provision even further for the benefit of all of our learners.
