Sharples School, along with other schools in the area, were invited to develop artwork to go on display in Astley Bridge. The artwork is a tribute to the firefighters who have been working tirelessly to tackle the blaze on Winter Hill. Two Year 9 pupils created a unique piece of work using the pyrography technique to burn an image of firefighters onto the wood. The students worked really well considering the short turnaround to get the work completed. They enjoyed using their time at lunch to ensure the work was completed for the exhibition. We are hoping, when the exhibition comes to an end, the work will be donated to the local fire station.
