This week, pupils in Year 10 and 11 watched a Zoom careers presentation (pictured above) by a Medical Statistician, Thomas Chu, in which he outlined the importance of applying Maths skills.

He talked about using computer modelling to look for patterns in various diseases affecting patients’ organs. He illustrated how the effects of smoking affect the lungs and how analysis of each case allows a dataset to be formed. He then took pupils’ questions regarding his profession.

Hamza Fozdar (Year 10) commented ‘This event was great. It really helped me understand what types of grades and skills you need to enter that field. I rated this event 9/10.’
