Last Wednesday the Language Ambassadors had their rewards trip to La Salsa in Bolton. As a group they voted to have a meal together to celebrate the successes of the first half term. We now have a vibrant Year 7 MFL club which grows in numbers each week. This club is run by Rumana and Aisha in Year 11. They organise the passes and all the activities and prizes. They had a surprise visitor from the University of Manchester who was very complimentary about their teaching skills.
We travelled to the restaurant in the school minibus and were all treated to a delicious selection of tapas, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Language Ambassadors across the two key stages spent the evening together enjoying a cultural and culinary treat and finding many common areas of interest.
The restaurant owner was extremely impressed with Sharples' students and said he would be delighted to host our events again.
This half term the Ambassadors are busy redecorating the Languages' corridor in preparation for our trip to Madrid (February 2015) and also conducting a survey on Mother Tongue languages.
