STEM Week 2020

By 13 March 2020June 2nd, 2021No Comments

To celebrate our annual STEM Week here at Sharples, we have held lots of events and activities for students.

On Monday (of this week) we welcomed Year 4 from St Paul’s to come along to learn about the topic of sound. They played musical instruments and learned all about how to use an oscilloscope.

Throughout the week, pupils have enjoyed taste testing in Food Technology and (on Wednesday) our Year 7 students had the opportunity to watch a rat dissection!

Friday was Pi Day and every form had the opportunity to win some fab prizes by entering the Pi Quiz!

In Engineering, Year 7 and 8 made their own jewellery with gems that had been panned by our students during the weekend STEM trip to Castleton last weekend.

Finally, during Friday lunchtime, our Science Buskers (pictured above) took to the lunch areas with simple experiments, and demonstrations, to show the Sharples students and staff during lunchtime!

A huge thanks to everyone who took part in STEM Week 2020. Get onto our Twitter for more photos! @SharplesSchool
