Year 7 had their first game in the Bolton Cup this week when they travelled to Smithills. The team were looking to bounce back from their narrow defeat last week in the league. It was clear that the team hadn’t lost any confidence as they exploded into action immediately and soon found themselves 3 goals up. Sharples were too strong all over the pitch and dominated possession throughout; they created numerous goal scoring opportunities throughout. Harvey was pulling the strings in midfield, Josh was immense in defence, Grace was superb throughout, dribbling through the opposition and Luca showed great composure in front of goal and scored the first hat trick for the Year 7 team. The achieved a very convincing 6-1 victory in the end.

Unfortunately, the Year 7 and 8 game against Kearsley Academy and Year 9 match against St Catherine’s all fell victim to the bad weather. These fixtures will be rearranged at a later date however this won’t be next week as Years 7-10 are all in action against Eden Boys and Year 11 host Turton on Tuesday in the Bolton Cup.
