Dear Parent/Carer
As you may be aware the NUT have nationally balloted their members for a day of strike action on Tuesday 5th July 2016, in furtherance of the dispute with the Government over workload, pay and other conditions.
A significant number of our staff are members of the NUT and as such we are likely to be affected by the industrial action. The governing body has therefore undertaken a risk assessment for the school to close completely to pupils.
In order to reduce further pupil absences throughout the week, governors have authorised a decision to move the calendared school training day from Thursday 7th to Wednesday 6th July so the two days are together.
School will therefore be closed to pupils on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th July
Any dinner monies paid for pupils will be credited to their account and pupils should attend as normal on Thursday 7th July onwards. Work will be set by pupils’ teachers for them to complete during the day.
We hope you will understand the reasons for this necessary change as we see this as being the least disruptive to learning. If you have any queries or require further information please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs. R. Quesnel
Headteacher
