Pupils ‘bite their thumbs’ – hopefully not at their teachers!

On Thursday evening Miss Dann and Miss Ludlam took a small group of Year 9 and 10 pupils to watch a cinema screening of Romeo and Juliet. The show, directed by Kenneth Branagh, was streamed live from a performance taking place in London at the prestigious Garrick Theatre. Students enjoyed the visually spectacular performances and comedic moments; they also had plenty to say on the special effects and the interesting choice of casting Mercutio as an elderly gentleman. The trip supports students in preparing for their GCSE English Literature exams where they need to know the play inside out and all pupils said they found it incredibly helpful!
