It has been a busy week for Sharples pupils in PE, combining training sessions with a number of fixtures.
On Monday, the badminton team travelled to Harper Green. It was a difficult fixture for the team with many of the opposition a few years older. However, Sharples competed well and made Harper work for their win. It was excellent to see some new members playing in the team with Lauren Edmonds, Hannah Abernethy, Mia Ellis and Demi Green making their debuts.

Sharples also played their first table tennis fixture against Turton on Thursday (pictured). The 14 strong squad was made up entirely from year 7 and 8 pupils and both teams played excellently with the future looking very bright. With the team performance being so good, it is difficult to pick out star performers. Having said this, Sam Fullarton, Shakeel Limbardia and Taylor Biggar were exceptional for the ‘A’ team. Next up will be Thornleigh, sessions will be running for all pupils every lunch time.

Sharples took a selection of year 7 pupils to the Salford 100 this week. It is an annual swimming event were pupils compete in their teams demonstrating various life saving skills. The pupils had been practising after school for the last month and the practise paid off. All pupils did themselves proud. Well done to Leah Winstanley, Lauren Heyes, Paige Holt, Josh Kenyon, Samir Sulemane, Sienna Isherwood and Freya Swailes.
